Why choose PLA?
PLA (polylactic acid) is the most popular and versatile 3D printing filament, derived from renewable resources. It is suitable for beginners and professionals alike, thanks to its advantages:
- Ease of use: low risk of warping, stable printing.
- Print quality: precise details, good inter-layer adhesion, smooth surface.
- Ecological: biosourced and compostable under industrial conditions.
- Low odour: pleasant impression, without strong fumes.
Essential technical characteristics
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Available diameters | 1.75 mm / 2.85 mm (on request - from 10 kg) |
| Extrusion temperature | 190-220 °C |
| Bed temperature | 0-60 °C (often optional) |
Choosing the right PLA filament
- Colors: a wide palette. Light shades (white, light gray) are ideal if you're painting.
- Packaging: Sample, 500 g, 750 g, 1 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg (others on request).
- Functional parts: for higher mechanical/thermal stress, see PETG or ABS.
- Storage: hygroscopic material → keep dry, in an airtight bag with silica gel.
Common applications of PLA
- Rapid prototyping
- Decorative objects and figurines
- Architectural models
- Educational projects
- Lightweight functional parts
Printing tips for optimal results
- Temperature setting: start at 200°C, adjust in 5°C steps according to rendering and adhesion.
- Plateau adhesion: 50-60°C for large parts and clean surfaces.
- Speed: 40-60 mm/s for maximum quality (higher speeds possible with fine adjustment).
- Cooling: 100% fan after first coats for sharp detail.
